"Schultz will provide the engaged leadership the School Board needs,"
says past Chairman of the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce
Fairfax, VA, Wednesday, October 12, 2011 - Stuart Mendelsohn, noted Land Use and Real Estate attorney for Holland & Knight, LLP, a former vice chairman of the Fairfax County School Board and member of the Board of Supervisors, has issued his endorsement of Elizabeth Schultz, Fairfax County School Board candidate for the Springfield District.
"As a former vice chairman of the Fairfax County School Board, member of the Board of Supervisors and past Chairman of the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce, I believe the collaborative efforts and dedicated commitment Elizabeth Schultz demonstrates are exactly what Fairfax County residents need right now on the School Board. With marked thoughtfulness, Elizabeth Schultz has already begun engaging key business, political and community leaders to address some of the very real challenges in the county," said Stuart Mendelsohn. "Elizabeth Schultz will provide the engaged leadership the School Board needs to be responsive and work with parents, taxpayers, the Board of Supervisors and the business community."
"Having served eight years on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors and two years as vice chairman of the Fairfax County School Board, Mr. Mendelsohn is an accomplished community member who understands the need for real solutions and the unrelenting effort necessary to effect change," said Schultz. Mendelsohn, who was recently named executive partner and head of the Holland & Knight Northern Virginia office, has served on a number of regional transportation commissions, land use committees and councils, most significantly on the Tysons Corner Land Use Task Force.
"I am profoundly grateful for the confidence of a preeminent Fairfax County leader like Stuart Mendelsohn who has exemplified stewardship in his service to Fairfax County on the School Board, Board of Supervisors and Chamber of Commerce," said Schultz. "With examples like those set by Mr. Mendelsohn, we will continue the county's tradition of excellence in education while broaching the challenges before us."
